meet member desires.

We strive at Treasured Haven Farm to give you the best value and farm experience for your investment and that
goes beyond the contents of your weekly box! We truly want you to feel connected to the farm where your food is
grown! We are an easy drive from the Twin Cities within an hour on I-35.

Our regular summer season at Treasured Haven Farm is from Mid-June through Early to Mid-October,
for 16 weeks to 18 weeks of produce including the fall harvest boxes, depending on the weather
and field conditions. We are working to invest in crop tunnels to extend our season even further.

We offer multiple share sizes so
our members can find a fit for whatever their household size. We have weekly
delivery,
or every other week options that give members who also love hand selecting their choice of produce an
option to be part of both a CSA and to patronize their local
Farmer's Market on the opposite week.

We set our goal to provide more than ample, excellent tasting, and quality naturally grown produce to fulfill your
needs and do everything possible to minimize risks to our growing crops, however, risks are an inherent part of
farming. We strive to give you the best amount you can utilize for the week but try not to overload you so things go
to waste. If we do give you more than you or your family can use any given week, please freeze, preserve, or
share with a friend, neighbor, or food shelf, or leave in our member exchange boxes.
We do accept payment by check, or by PayPal, even without a PayPal Account.

Our goal is to exceed your expectations in quality, quantity, value, and service!!
We Hope You Will Join Us!

Holiday Bonus Boxes: These Holiday specials include winter squash, potatoes,
onions, garlic, and other vegetables, as available, to be picked up at the farm in early
to mid November, and early to mid December in conjunction with a Holiday Craft
Festival. This is beyond your regular fall storage box, if you took advantage of that
member benefit. This would also make a good Holiday Gift. Please, note on the
Order Form if you are interested in November or December's box, or both, so we can
plan our plantings. Dependent on availability. Prices to be determined later in the
season..

Each week you will receive a email newsletter update telling what is in your box that
week, links to
featured recipes, and what is happening on the farm. These are an
important source of info for our members and are part of the overall experience. Our
members from 2009 requested we eliminate the paper version, and go totally paperless to
save on resources. However, if needed, you can choose to have a paper copy delivered in
your share. We do grow plenty of the basics and a few trial veggies for fun. We include
descriptions of the produce in the newsletters and are incorporating an online reference for
the crops. In 2010, we are adding a Member Chef position(s) for valuable info for handling
tips and recipes.

Extra Pick Your Own Produce is available first for our Members in reasonable quantities.
Many times the only cost of the produce is your time to help pick additional produce for our
weekly boxes.

Our Harvest Bonus is at season's end and includes quantities of onions, potatoes, winter
squashes, pumpkins, and other root crops.  We offer this as a bonus because some of our
members do not want this extra storage quantity.  Please, note on the Order Form if you
are interested and in which crops so we can plan our planting accordingly. Additional
Holiday Bonus Boxes are available for purchase for November and December as the
season allows.

Ornamentals are offered in the fall season and includes gourds, pumpkins, decorative
corn, cornstalks, and a bale of grasses for fall decoration as available. Pumpkins, gourds,
and decorative corn are available in the share boxes, the cornstalks and bales are
available only for on-farm pick-up.

All our Members are invited to the farm throughout the season and for special Farm
Days for activities or to just enjoy the countryside and our wooded trails. We do not have
actual campsites, but you are welcomed to come pitch a tent or park your camper for the
night. Visit the other great attractions in the area, such as the St.Croix River, Rush Lake,
etc. ... more info is coming! We appreciate calling ahead!
Additional OFFERS for Our Members!
Holiday Gift Bonus: We offer a great Volume Discount to our Members for your
Holiday gift purchases from
Treasured Haven Farm Store. Gift Certificates are also
available.
Understanding Your Share Options:
The right size for each household varies tremendously based upon
the amount of produce consumed on average and personal tastes.
The suggestions stated here are simply based upon member feedback.
Make sure to read other info about CSAs, and Tips on Choosing a CSA
found elsewhere on this website before making your decision.

In general, we have found that a SMALL share is best for singles, and some couples.
This size would be only a supplemental box of veggies for larger households.

A LARGE share works well for a household of 2 adults with a couple children. Some single
people and many couples also prefer the LARGE share because they love veggies, it allows
them to freeze or can some food for the winter, and they love the greater variety.

We now offer a BASIC Share for an additional option in the middle.
If you can't decide, a Basic Share, either weekly, or every other week, is a great way to start!

***Please note that our regular weekly and every other week shares are not designed
to be split between households
(ex: it is hard to split one head of cabbage, a watermelon,
large winter squash, or some items into two reasonable sized portions, etc.)
We do have a New
Bulk Option to share with groups, neighbors, family, and friends.

What do I get in my share?
~ 35-40 different naturally grown vegetables/herbs of over 140 varieties throughout the season
~ A weekly share of freshly harvested & cooled produce, 16-18 week Regular Season.
~ Delivery to a Drop Site in your area on your scheduled day
~ Pick-Up On Farm can mix and match their produce from what is available that week
~ Pick-Your-Own cherry tomatoes, beans, peas, herbs, pumpkins and flowers as available.
~ The amount of produce varies throughout the season. At the start of the season, the boxes
may not be filled to the top, but by season's end they are stuffed with produce.
***More info about other benefits and what crops are in your share is below...
What crops will I find in my box?

Each week the vegetables in your box will vary according to what is currently in
season and the size share you have chosen. The amount of produce can vary
greatly for larger shares from 8 -12 pounds at the beginning of the season, about
14 -18 pounds at mid-season, up to 25, and even 45 pounds, at the end of the
season for our Largest Shares. Usually, there are between 5 -12 different varieties
each week, or more for the largest shares that generally have a greater variety. If
your share is delivered to a Drop Site you will receive a Farmer's Choice
Selection, with an emphasis on your likes most weeks, from what is "in season"
that week. Those who Pick-Up at the farm will have the choice to mix and match
your collection for the week and make various exchanges between the options for
that week as available. If you are going to be on vacation, get a friend, relative, or
your house sitter to pick up and enjoy your box for you.

We love to grow everyone's favorites, but you are also encouraged to try the
vegetables that may be new to you, or share that item with a friend. We try to offer
recipes and suggestions in our weekly newsletters. If you have a household of
picky eaters, a trip to the farm may be in order. Children, especially, are more apt
to try something new when they have picked it themselves or have seen the
vegetables growing in the field. Make this an adventure and learning experience
    for the whole family!

Some of the selections during the season may include:

Early Season (mid June - mid July):

What best describes your preferred choice of veggies in your box?
When there is a choice, top off my box with...
Standard: Balance of all available veggies! I think of my box as a surprise present to open!
I understand there will be a few unique items that may soon become a newfound favorite.
Adventure: I like a variety and also love to experiment with new and unusual crops. I like
to try exotics, oriental veggies, and unusual greens.
Greens Lover: I like a variety of produce but I prefer all the greens I can get: leaf lettuce,
beet greens, spinach, swiss chard, arugula, and more. If given a choice to get something
extra in my box, make it Greens!
Cabbage Lover: I like a variety, but I love cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale...
Roots Lover: I like a variety, but if given the choice, I prefer the root crops: beets, carrots,
onions, turnips, potatoes over things like greens.
Squash Lover: I like the variety, but keep the summer and winter squash coming!
