| Treasured Haven Farm is proud to announce our partnering with the Minnesota's Emergency Foodshelf Network's (EFN) Program of Harvest for the Hungry for 2010. Treasured Haven Farm, along with a few other CSA farms, work to promote this program among our members and the general public to encourage donations to the EFN to purchase locally grown and organic produce for the state's foodshelf distribution system. Supporter donations are matched dollar for dollar with 100% of your Tax Deductible Donation going towards the purchase of locally grown produce from the farm of your choosing. No administrative costs are deducted from these donations. So for every One Dollar you contribute, TWO Dollars of locally grown food is purchased and your money will not be used for anything other than Fresh Produce from the farm of your choosing. The Harvest for the Hungry program has many benefits for all involved. It is our mission to participate to make produce available to those who may not have access to, or cannot regularly afford, quality farm fresh vegetables. EFN has made a commitment to support Local, Sustainable, and Organic CSA Growers as their first choice for supplying their produce needs whenever possible. This is an opportunity for supporters to know that their donations are not only helping provide fresh produce through the food shelf network, but at the same time helping conscientious, environmentally responsible farmers remain financially stable and viable growers for the community. Treasured Haven Farm is planting additional amounts of crops to grow specifically for the EFN and is encouraging our members and friends to make a commitment to this important goal of getting fresh produce available to everyone, regardless of income or circumstance. Because of personal experience, our family understands the need because through a period of illness, loss of a home from fire, and the resulting overwhelming financial nightmare that followed, what it is like to need to head to a food shelf to have any food to put on the table for our family of seven. We always wanted to be in a position to be able to give back, and in the spirit of this giving, our farm will donate an additional amount of produce beyond that which is purchased. Below are some suggestions for Joining Us in Donating to the Harvest for the Hungry: Donate to Harvest for the Hungry through their website a specific sum to be used for individual produce as needed throughout the season and available from the farm. Designate Treasured Haven Farm as your farm of choice. ~One Time Tax Deductible Donation to Harvest for the Hungry in any amount, examples: $200, $100, $75, $50, $25, $10, or any amount of your choosing that you feel comfortable donating. Or you can also make your donation monthly in any amount of $5, $10, $20, or more. Please designate Treasured Haven Farm as your farm of choice so we know that you want us to add to that donation with additional produce. To DONATE and read more CLICK HERE. Another option is to make a donation to Harvest for the Hungry towards a regular membership share, and our farm will donate the difference. You can combine your efforts with your group or friends, let the farm know if your group is doing this so we can personally acknowledge your efforts in our member Newsletters and on our website, if you desire. ~One time $500 Combined Group or Individual Donation, for a Large Share equivalent each week for the season. ~One time $400 Combined Group or Individual Donation, for a Basic Share equivalent each week for the season. ~One time $300 Combined Group or Individual Donation, for a Small Share equivalent each week for the season.
