Our trail system started in 1997 as a training resource for our local school
and our five children who all went on to participate in Cross Country Running.
In 2010, we ran our first race as a 5K for our CSA members and a few other friends.
After such great response to the trails and atmosphere we have expanded
to multiple race events of varying distances and challenges and invite everyone to participate. Each year we are making
improvements and have exciting plans in the works for the future.
We believe strongly in providing a safe, yet exciting, venue for runners to enjoy the countryside and nature, while also
having the opportunity to reflect and challenge themselves.
The races, after all the related expenses, help to maintain the trail system and natural habitats
on Treasured Haven Farm for use throughout the year by youth groups, volunteers,
high school cross country teams, or Community Supported Agriculture members.
Proceeds are also used towards the packing and delivery of farm fresh produce
grown on the farm, to area food shelves, or others in need, at no cost to them.
Treasured Haven Farm donates the use of the land, timing system,
and much labor to prepare for and run the event, and any produce that is delivered.
Additional Sponsors, who have core beliefs and values in preserving natural resources, local agriculture, and healthy
living, will be considered. Contact the farm to express your interest.
Please check out some pics and other info about our unique events.
Treasured Haven Farm hosted it's first 5K Trail Run,
known as the Treasured Haven Farm Veggie Run, on August 14, 2010!
We also had a 1 Mile Fun Run and a Toddler Trot for the kids!
The 5k course was well received even considering
the farm had received over 7 inches of rain the preceding three days!
It was truly an adventure mud and trail run for its inaugural debut!
All of our farm courses are privately controlled on the farm itself,
and not on public roadways! We do have one gravel road that the course crosses
for some of the runs over 5k so that we can access the western half
of the farm for more challenges, terrain, and distance.
We also award engraved wooden plaques or other awards
created right here on the farm for our overall gender and age group winners!
The courses and trails have been under development
by the Johnson Family on Treasured Haven Farm since 1997.
The farm has private wooded trails, field drives and crossings, many open areas including
fields and gardens, with ravines, streams, numerous hillsides, and a creek
that help create some interesting and challenging adventure features
for our premier cross country runs of distances beyond the 5k. Surfaces vary from mowed
field grass, private dirt field roads, woodland dirt trails, to more rough terrain for
adventure runs. The farm and courses surely will challenge your body
and refresh your spirit!

T-shirts are not guaranteed if registering on Race Day.
Some Races are Limited!
From our experiences of attending 100's of races over the years,
we understand the desire to watch at least part of the longer races
and have designed the courses for some great spectator vantage points
with centralized hubs to see runners multiple times.
We also will have some concession items also available.
We do request that spectators remain only near the course and in designated areas
and be conscious that this is a working farm with growing crops.
The farm also has living ecosystems in the woodlands and other areas that could be
damaged should you stray off the courses or enter these fragile habitats.
If there is a sign or roped off area, to preserve the opportunity for future events,
please do not cross those lines. Thank You!
Your Cooperation in Preserving the Environment is Greatly Appreciated!
